Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers for the soft launch.
A short guide to how ShiftTrack accounts, workspaces, and company operations fit together.
Is a ShiftTrack account tied to one company?
No. Your account and personal workspace remain yours. Companies invite you into employment or workspace access separately.
Can companies prepare payroll in ShiftTrack?
Yes. Companies can configure salaries and payroll groups, generate payroll drafts, review employee results, and route payroll runs through approval.
Does ShiftTrack support mobile attendance?
Yes. The mobile client can support attendance and schedule workflows enabled by the company.
Can I try ShiftTrack during the soft launch?
Yes. Create a free account to start a personal workspace right away. Joining an existing company is also free; starting your own company workspace requires a one-time Company Creation Plan.
What is the difference between an employee invitation and workspace access?
An employee invitation creates an HR relationship with the company. Workspace access is separate and allows a person to help manage company operations based on their assigned role.
Can companies define work shifts and payroll groups?
Yes. Companies can maintain reusable work shift templates and configure payroll groups with rate types, cutoff schedules, payout timing, earnings, deductions, and approval requirements.
How does payroll use attendance records?
Payroll generation consumes prepared daily attendance summaries for the selected coverage period, allowing administrators to review employee payable days and payroll line items before completion.
How is sensitive account information protected?
Passwords and tokens are stored as hashes. Sensitive personal information is protected with application-level encryption, while access is separated by account, employment, and workspace responsibility.
